Gai’s approach in coaching draws on contemporary neuro science, positive psychology, change management and models, Philosophy, Systems theory, Emotional Intelligence, Motivation theory, Thinking and creativity, Mindfulness and Mindful leadership and NLP.

Gai is based in Kapiti, on the west coast of the north island of NZ. Gai spent her early career years in the financial services sector in NZ and Australia, focussed on sales, marketing and change management.

In 2002 she realised that her values no longer were a ‘fit’ for very senior life in the corporate scene. She worked with a coach on this ‘conflict’ and it became very clear she was responsible for the changes she had made, and now, had create her next chapter. During her coaching process, she realised that coaching was actually what attracted her. She started her initial coach training in 2002 and has never looked back.

Her clients are mainly senior executives, leaders, board members and business owners. Having made the decision to work in this market, most of her early coaching work was delivered by phone, then skype, now Zoom for non locally based clients. Most of her clients were, and still are, in other cities or countries. This has enabled her to refine her way of communicating by these virtual means and create a deep sense of trust and rapport very quickly. She sees trust and rapport as a must have when working with people who are at the level that they often cannot ‘think out loud’ with anyone else.

For many years she also trained other coaches contracted to various coach training schools. She also delivers and develops her own workshops and facilitation.
