Overview
John has over 25 years experience which includes senior management positions across a range of industries including high-tech, telecommunications, manufacturing and tertiary education. As Head of Product Strategy for Avaya Asia Pacific, he led a multi-cultural commercial team across Asia.
John spent a number of years as a member of Executive Management Teams participating in the strategic discussions and implementing strategy and change initiatives across the region.
One of his earlier roles was Head of Project Management. John developed a high performing team of Project Managers across the UK, US and Germany, increasing on time delivery of projects from 25% to 90%. John’s management positions have spanned Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Business Operations across blue-chip organisations.
John has worked consistently in the Tertiary Education sector over the past 8 years. This includes providing regular project management for professionals workshops; facilitation of team strategy days; providing executive and leadership coaching assignments for numerous individuals at Head of Department and Director level across several universities.
Coaching Style & Experience
As an Executive Coach, John works with executives in organisations, to enhance their leadership and management effectiveness, including the areas of stakeholder engagement, conflict, delegation strategies, balancing people and task and interpersonal effectiveness. One of his key strengths is enabling leaders to improve the execution of their strategies.
Throughout his career, John has coached and mentored many industry professionals and regularly facilitates strategy and planning sessions, enabling organisations and teams to achieve their goals.
John has a pragmatic approach. He builds trust and credibility quickly and his style is direct, consistent and results focused. John quickly gets to the essence of the issues and assists people through his challenging and skilful questioning to clarify and focus on what is important for them and take the necessary actions to make significant changes.
